| Aunque
prefiero la vida solitaria del taller, del estudio, eventualmente
ofrezco talleres, cursillos y pláticas sobre el oficio. Desde
aquella efímera Casa del Dragón -que me sirvió para construir
mi primer horno de raku-, la Casa Pacífica en Mazatlán,
la Universidad Latina de Morelia, Temetzin en
Uruapan, el Conservatorio de las Rosas, el Tecnológico
de Morelia, o Santa María de Guido y la Magdalena Contreras
(junto con mi hijo Alonso), hasta abrir mi taller a aprendices
que han seguido el camino del barro, la enseñanza del oficio
es parte ineludible del quehacer artístico.
Prefiero
siempre la iniciación. La cerámica es tan vasta y de tan largo
vuelo que para mi es, por lo pronto, suficiente abrir la puerta
hacia tan maravilloso universo. Es así que ofrezco una introducción
al material y las diversas formas de acercarse a él. Mi interés
es, más que nada, que se den la oportunidad de reinventar
ese acercamiento, intentar un libre diálogo con la arcilla,
para después señalar los caminos que se han abierto. Mis cursillos
son para neófitos. Mi taller abierto para quien busca trabajar
con la cerámica como una nueva técnica dentro de su
quehacer.

Altough
l prefer the recluded life of my studio, sometimes l offer
worshops, courses and lectures about ceramics. From that short-lasting
but very nurturing Dragon's House - where l built my first
Raku kiln, to the Casa Pacífica in Mazatlán, the Latin University
of Morelia, Temetzin in Uruapan,
Las Rosas Conservatory, the Morelia Technologic Institute,
Santa María de Guido and Magdalena Contreras, to open my studio
to some apprentices who have followed clay's path and artists
who want to learn the basic technic, teaching the craft is
an ineluctable part of my artistic work.

to provoke people to allow themselves re-invent that approach
and to try and begin a free dialogue with clay,
so then they can start the journey through paths they open
themselves. My courses are for newbies. My open studio for
those who want to explore ceramics as a new technic.
